Intake and transition focussed package for Twickenham School

“We have had many positive comments about our brochures when we used Lore Creative.  Their high standard of work, efficiency and speed with which they do things has been a breath of fresh air.”

Assal Ruse,  Headteacher.

The brief

Having worked with Twickenham School before they outlined three new objectives for this years’ marketing pack;

• To increase Yr5 & Yr6 primary student ‘footfall’ to upcoming Open Day events

• To update the current prospectus and appeal to prospective parents and quality staff

• To promote their recent good Ofsted report in the community

Our response

During our initial meetings with the School the outline of the pack was formed; it would consist of an outer folder housing a prospectus, a transition brochure and a community Ofsted flyer.  All of which were to follow the newly created School brand and style but differ subtly to appeal to each target audience.

We knew that the School wanted to gain greater awareness for their Open Day events so started by investigating the best approach to attract both year 5 and year 6 primary students.  Together we decided that a transition brochure would be a good idea; something that could go into primary school book bags and attract prospective students whilst also illustrating to parents the importance the School placed on transition.  The design was adapted to appeal to the younger target audience by way of using lively typefaces, more child focussed graphics and photography that was based around younger year 7 & 8 pupils.

We recognised that the main prospectus needed to be attractive to both prospective parents and to potential new quality staff.  With this in mind the design of the prospectus uses more clean cut lines, a more corporate overview and houses photography of all age groups, not just the younger years.  Full colour photos were used throughout to make the imagery ‘pop’ and further differentiate the brochure from the transition prospectus.

Promoting the ‘Good’ Ofsted comments to the community was something we all wanted to address swiftly and for the response to be wide ranging.  We focussed in on a quality styled leaflet that highlighted and showcased the brilliant comments from the Ofsted report all under the stylish new brand.  Large full colour photos were used to catch the audiences’ eye.  The School then distributed the leaflet in local housing development show homes, doctors surgeries, community halls etc.
