Vandyke Upper School and Community College is an academy school and sixth form in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, England.

The Brief

Vandyke Upper School appointed us to create their new school marketing pack, which included a new prospectus, website and video for the school. The brief was to use the existing school colours and logo but to present them in a modern way that helped show the calm and purposeful atmosphere around the school.

Our Response

With a prospectus, website and video to produce we started by booking a two-day shoot, and got to work on devising both a photography shoot list as well as a script and concept for the school video.

We met with the school a few times to ensure we were both happy and had a strong starting point. The prospectus changed to a more modern square format, and we developed the video concept to include staff, pupils and a schedule of footage to back up the narrative. And finally, the website was designed with a clean linear styling to the site navigation.

We reconsidered the application of the schools’ striking brand colours and introduced more white space to balance the use of burgundy and grey. We carried the linear styling through each piece – prospectus, website and video – resulting in a modern, purposeful and stand out final pack.
